Job Title: Production Lead Person
Location: Kalama, WA
About the role:
We're looking for an experienced Production Lead to run the floor on swing shift. This is a working lead position — you'll be in the mix on the production line, not watching from an office. Alongside the supervisor, you'll train and develop the crew, keep production moving safely and on target, and step in to coach or correct when something's off. The right person is someone the crew respects because they know the work and communicate well.
What you'll do:
- Work directly on the production floor as part of the crew.
- Train and mentor team members; set the pace and the standard.
- Address performance and conduct issues directly, including assisting the supervisor in disciplinary conversations when needed.
- Keep production running smoothly and meet output and quality targets.
- Enforce safety practices and lead by example on the floor.
- Communicate clearly with your crew and supervisor.
What you bring:
- Prior lead or supervisory experience in a production environment (sawmill or wood products strongly preferred).
- Strong, direct communication skills — you can train, give feedback, and have hard conversations.
- Reliable and available for the swing schedule, including consistent nightly overtime.
- Comfortable doing physical work: standing, lifting, and moving for a full 10-hour shift in a mill environment.
- A safety-first mindset and the credibility to hold others to it.
- Fluent in English but Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
